

About “Manet et le Paris moderne”
Edouard Manet (1823-1883) is one of the most important painters in the history of modern art. He had a great impact on Impressionists and Post Impressionist painters in subsequent years, and by extension, influenced 20th century artists through various works bursting with monernite.
“Manet et le Paris moderne,” commemorates the opening of the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum,Tokyo and will show Manet’s masterpieces, and at the same time, provide an opportunity to think over the relations between a modern city and an artist. The exhibits are introduced with the changing scenes of Paris.
